Jaundiced Journalism

A SHORT DISCOURSE ON HOW TO AFFLICT JOURNALISM WITH JAUNDICE

Sensationalise. If u have something worth telling the world about, sensationalise it.If you have something not worth telling the world about, sensationalise it.The world does not care for what you want to tell it, it does not care whether it is worth hearing out, it does not care, period. The world, shishya, is up for grabs for you to thrill, befuddle, enchant.....it has starry eyes, not bespectacled ones.....so give it dreams, not news.

Oh yes, shishya, it is true!Think with the wondrous wisdom you have given yourself! How many love affairs has Clinton had?Where will Laxmi Mittal's daughter wed?WHYEVER DID RAHUL DRAVID DECLARE WITH SACHIN ON 194???

Can you not answer all three questions without distracting a cell in your wondrous brain? Can't they all?

You see, shishya, the world likes fairytales as much as it loves diabolic scandals. It will listen to you if you give them just that.It will worship you if you weave before them yard after magical yard about why the erstwhile First Lady of a distant nation just wasn't good enough, how many bejewelled bangles the daughter of one Indian out of a billion Indians will soon adorn her hands with, whether it was actually just plain envy on the stand-in captain's part.......believe me, shishya, the world will love you for it.

Give it , on the other hand, a simple essay on a plan to protect stray dogs in your city, and it will disown you like one.Urge them to 'do their part'(bless your soul) for the poor, and you will find yourself a part of the benefactors of your intentions.

Choose, shishya, choose wisely!

The world wants, dreams of, craves for sensation! In it's idealistic quest and find of real
reel, the one thing it will NOT respect is idealism..........it wants to see change, it will not change........so show it change.Give it movement and turbulence and rocking boats, as long it is not in them.......tell it to calm the waters, and it will look away, ignore, forget you, just like another non-sensational story.

Choose, shishya, choose! You are the maker of your own destiny! The world can look after its own.
